Martha Scanlan's song, Little Bird Of Heaven, is featured in Joyce Carol Oates' new novel of the same name, due out Sept. 15th.
The New York Times best-selling author's new novel is described as "an expertly crafted, lovingly detailed character-driven novel of loss and longing." The song's lyrics appear in the novel's opening epigraph and throughout the story, sung by the young female protagonist.

There is a new recording of the song available for listening here and for download here recorded live at Empty Sea Studios in Seattle with Dirk Powell, who collaborated on and produced "The West Was Burning". It will also be available at amazon.com and itunes and other on-line outlets.
